Apple has once again refreshed its popular accessory by introducing the latest version of AirTag, now equipped with enhanced capabilities to help users locate lost items. This update focuses on improved detection range and a louder built-in speaker, making it faster and more accurate to find everyday belongings such as keys, bags, or luggage compared to the previous model.
Unlike the earlier version, the new-generation AirTag is powered by a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, the same technology used in the latest iPhone and Apple Watch models. This upgrade allows the Precision Finding feature to work effectively over longer distances—up to 50% farther than before—using visual cues, haptic feedback, and sound to guide users directly to their items.
In addition to its extended range, Apple has enhanced the Bluetooth performance of the new AirTag, expanding the area in which the tag can be detected by connected devices. The updated speaker is also capable of producing sound up to twice as loud, making it easier to hear from a distance or in noisy environments.
Beyond tracking performance, the latest AirTag continues to uphold Apple’s high standards for security and privacy. The device does not store location data internally, and all communication with the Find My network is protected by end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only the owner can access the location information of their belongings.
