ASUS Republic of Gamers has introduced the ROG XREAL R1, a pair of AR gaming glasses designed to bring a massive virtual screen experience to PC and console gamers through a compact, wearable form. Using Full HD micro-OLED displays with a 240 Hz refresh rate, the glasses can project a virtual screen equivalent of up to 171 inches, eliminating the need for a traditional physical monitor.
The ROG XREAL R1 offers a 57-degree field of view, striking a balance between immersion and real-world awareness. This makes the glasses suitable not only for fast-paced competitive games, but also for immersive single-player titles, movies, and multimedia content. The high refresh rate ensures smooth visuals and reduced motion blur, which is critical for gaming performance.
For connectivity, the device is paired with a ROG Control Dock that includes DisplayPort 1.4 and dual HDMI 2.0 inputs. This allows seamless connection to PCs, gaming consoles, and handheld devices. The glasses also support an Anchor Mode, enabling the virtual screen to remain fixed in a specific position within the user’s physical space.
Completing the experience, the ROG XREAL R1 integrates Sound by Bose, delivering clear and immersive audio without the need for external headphones. With a lightweight design optimized for comfort, the glasses are intended for long gaming sessions at home or on the go. ASUS plans a global release in the first half of 2026, positioning the ROG XREAL R1 as a forward-looking step in wearable gaming technology.
